Overview

Thirty minutes to scope whether the course upslope is affecting your water.

How this works, in four steps:

1. You book this call. The $50 is the specialist's time, not the testing.
2. You talk through your lake, your history, and what you actually need to know.
3. Lake Pulse sends a written quote for the work, scoped to that conversation.
4. If you go ahead, everything runs through Lake Pulse and the results land in your portal with insights attached.

You are not buying the solution for $50. You are buying the half hour that makes sure you buy the right one.

Turnaround

Booking: you schedule the call at checkout, and most calls happen within a few business days. Call: 30 minutes with a Lake Pulse specialist. Quote: a written scope and price follows the call. Work: scheduled once you accept the quote. Timelines depend on the scope and, for anything seasonal, on the calendar.

When to use it

What problem does this solve for our lake?

Golf courses are intensively managed: fertiliser to keep turf green, fungicides and pesticides to protect it, irrigation and stormwater carrying whatever is on the ground toward the nearest low point. When a course sits above or beside a shoreline, it is a reasonable question — and one that generates a great deal of heat and very little evidence. The scoping call works out what would actually demonstrate an effect. Usually that means testing & monitoring above and below the suspected input rather than mid-lake, choosing between current-use and legacy chemistry panels, and timing collection to runoff events rather than calm mornings. Done properly, this produces a defensible answer in either direction — and a clean result is worth as much as a positive one, often more, because it ends a dispute that has been running for years. Bundles are not fixed baskets, and that is deliberate. Two lakes with the same question rarely need the same tests. Depth, size, history, stratification, watershed, what has already been measured, and what the decision actually is all change the answer — sometimes by thousands of dollars in either direction. A pre-packaged bundle sold blind either includes tests you did not need or omits the one that mattered. So we price the conversation, then quote the work.

What's included?

  • A 30-minute scheduled call with a Lake Pulse specialist
  • Review of whatever you already have — past results, consultant reports, agency data, local history
  • A recommended scope built for your lake rather than a generic checklist
  • A written quote following the call
  • If you proceed: everything ordered, tracked, and delivered through Lake Pulse, with results loaded to your portal and interpreted rather than dumped on you

What's not included

  • The testing or services themselves. This listing is the scoping call; the work is quoted after it.
  • A fixed list of included tests. What goes in the scope depends on your lake — that is the point of the call.
  • Obligation to proceed. Plenty of these calls end with a smaller recommendation than the caller expected, or none at all.
  • Treatment, remediation, or applicator services
  • Regulatory or compliance determinations

Requirements

  • Whatever you already have, sent ahead — old results, a consultant's proposal, agency records, even photographs
  • A sense of the decision behind the question. "Our board votes in March" changes the recommendation more than any technical detail.
  • Whoever will act on the answer, on the call
  • A Plus, Lake Admin, or PRO subscription to have results loaded into your Lake Pulse account
  • Contact the Lake Pulse Boathouse if you have questions.
What you get back

Results

  • A recommended scope of work, specific to your lake
  • A written quote, so the cost is known before you commit
  • A clear sense of what you do not need, which is frequently the more valuable half
  • Results load into your lake's Data Library in the Lake Pulse Portal
  • Data can be charted in the Analytics Hub, used to trigger alerts, or shared with your board and members
  • Results are found in your lake's portal, accessible only to Plus, Lake Admin, and PRO subscription tiers

Pro tips

  • The course's greenskeeper will likely say he/she is very careful in application of chemistry and will insist there is no impact on the lake. If that's the case, here's an opportunity to prove that the course has no impact. This isn't about challenging the greenskeeper's work, it's about highlighting the good work he/she is doing.
  • Sample above and below the input, not in the middle of the lake. A single mid-lake sample will read clean whatever is happening at the shoreline.
  • Time it to runoff. The signal arrives with heavy rain and is gone before the next calm-weather visit.
  • Current-use and legacy compounds are different panels. Which one fits depends on how long the course has been there and what era of chemistry you suspect.
  • Talk to the superintendent first if you can. Many courses keep detailed application records and many are better managed than assumed.
  • Be prepared for a clean result and treat it as a real outcome. It is the fastest way to end a shoreline argument permanently.

Lake Pulse sells measurement and monitoring — not treatment or remediation. What you buy here positions you to solve the problem, and to prove whether it worked.
