Who PRO is for
Lake Pulse PRO is for people who hold a formal mandate across more than one lake: by charter, contract, jurisdiction or program. Public agencies, universities, nonprofits and independent consultants. Many PRO subscribers don't live on any of the lakes they serve. What they share is a role in helping each lake test, monitor, and get its history on the record.
Companies that sell lake treatment or management services aren't eligible for PRO. That isn't a judgment about their work. It's what keeps the record neutral.
Two ways in
Invited by a Lake Admin. A lake's Lake Admin can invite an outside expert from their account page in the portal. A PRO account is included with every Lake Admin subscription, at no cost to the consultant.
Approved by Lake Pulse. Professionals and organizations with a multi-lake mandate apply, and we verify the mandate for each lake. Where a lake already has a Lake Admin, they confirm your participation by email. Where it doesn't, an approved PRO subscriber can step into that role. Pricing for mandates across 2, 20 or 200 lakes is custom quoted.
The problem we take off your desk
Most engagements start the same way. The client hands over a binder, a few spreadsheets in different formats, a consultant report from years ago, and a volunteer's Secchi notebook. Methods are undocumented, sites have moved, units don't match. Before real work begins, someone has to reconstruct what's known. That someone is usually you.
A lake on Lake Pulse arrives differently: its history in one place, its measurements standardized, its sampling locations mapped, and its monitoring continuing between your visits. With PRO, you switch between every lake you're responsible for from one account.
The record belongs to the lake
Everything a PRO subscriber adds stays with the lake. When an engagement ends, the next expert starts where the last one left off. Nobody, including Lake Pulse, can alter or delete a measurement to suit a conclusion. That's what makes the record credible to boards, funders and agencies, and it's what makes your before-and-after results hold up.

Why this is good for your work
Lake professionals are hired to show that a solution will work, is working, or did work. That case only holds up on measurements taken before, during and after, at a resolution nobody can wave away. Lakes that monitor continuously give you that evidence, and they surface more questions than they can answer on their own. Those questions are your work.
