Your forecast comes from an airport. Your lake does not.

Overview
A solar-powered, solid-state weather station with no moving parts, installed in minutes, tracking more than a dozen atmospheric variables: temperature, humidity, wind speed, direction and gusts, rainfall onset, intensity and accumulation, barometric pressure, solar radiation and UV, and lightning activity with strike distance up to 25 miles.
The current hardware generation adds larger solar panels, a redesigned charging system, a replaceable battery, and upgraded temperature, humidity, and rain sensors. It is already integrated with Lake Pulse — no custom wiring, no third-party workarounds. Data lands in the Analytics Hub under Trends, alongside your water-quality record.
Three configurations are available: a Wi-Fi home station, and two commercial-licensed PRO stations on Wi-Fi or cellular.
Turnaround

When to use it
What problem does this solve for our lake?
Lake conditions are intensely local; the weather data most people rely on is not. Forecasts and apps run on public data, largely from stations sited decades ago at regional airports — miles and a microclimate away from your water.
That gap matters because weather is the forcing function for nearly everything in a lake:
• Wind and solar radiation drive stratification and set up the conditions a bloom needs.
• Rainfall drives nutrient loading. The size and timing of a storm determines what arrives in the lake and when.
• Wind, gusts, and lightning distance determine whether it is safe to be on the water — the everyday question a shoreline household actually asks.
For an individual subscriber that is better local information. For a lake association it is more than that: it is the meteorological backbone that ties bloom risk, runoff, and swimmer safety to measured inputs rather than inferred ones. Weather is what turns a water-quality record into an explanation.
What's included?
Weather station sensor — solar powered, solid-state, no moving parts. Measures temperature, humidity, wind speed, direction and gusts, rain onset, intensity, duration and accumulation, barometric pressure, UV, brightness and solar radiation, and lightning with strike distance.
Connectivity hub appropriate to the configuration — Wi-Fi for Basic and PRO Wi-Fi, cellular for PRO Cellular
Flat base and pole mount for post, dock, or piling installation
Onboarding into your Lake Pulse dashboard, with the parameter set mapped to the platform's time-series views
Basic includes lifetime data access, forecasting, and API integration with no subscription fee. PRO includes a commercial-licensed premium data and forecasting service.
Data flows up to the Lake Pulse cloud and back down into your lake's account, where it can be charted in the Analytics Hub, used to trigger alerts, and shared with your board and members
Three configurations:
Basic (Wi-Fi only, requires 2.4GHz) — individual lakefront households. The right choice for most single properties and materially cheaper.
PRO Wi-Fi — commercial-licensed, for associations, HOAs, marinas, and community monitoring programmes at a site with Wi-Fi.
PRO Cellular — for remote shoreline sites, pilings, far docks, and multi-site networks with no Wi-Fi reach.
Optional add-ons available on request: universal mount, power booster and cable extension, bird deterrent.
What's not included
Installation and the mounting structure
Water quality or lake level of any kind. This measures the atmosphere.
Wi-Fi. Basic and PRO Wi-Fi require an existing 2.4GHz network at the site; PRO Cellular does not.
A commercial data licence on the Basic configuration. If the data will be shared across an organisation, PRO is the correct SKU.
Regulatory or compliance-grade meteorological monitoring
Treatment, remediation, or applicator services
Requirements
A mounting position with clear exposure — open to wind and sky, away from buildings, trees, and roof heat, which is the difference between lake weather and backyard weather
Wi-Fi coverage at the mounting point for Basic and PRO Wi-Fi configurations
The right configuration chosen before ordering. Basic is for a household; PRO carries the commercial licence an association needs.
Data subscription activation coordinated with your install date, so the time-series record starts clean with no gaps or wasted subscription days. Arrange this before the station goes live.
A Plus, Lake Admin, or PRO subscription. Syncing a real-time device to a Lake Pulse account requires one of these tiers.

What you get back
Results
Hyperlocal real-time conditions for your shoreline rather than a regional approximation
The meteorological drivers of lake health — solar radiation, wind, rainfall — feeding directly into bloom, stratification, runoff, and turnover analysis
On-water safety awareness through live wind, gust, and lightning-distance data
A continuous time-series record in the Analytics Hub under Trends, plotted alongside your water-quality data
For PRO configurations, a commercial-licensed foundation for a community-scale network with organisational data sharing across sites
Results are found in your lake's portal, accessible only to Plus, Lake Admin, and PRO subscription tiers
Pro tips
Siting decides the data quality. A station on a roof, beside a wall, or under a tree measures the building, not the lake. Open exposure over water is worth more than any hardware upgrade.
Choose PRO if more than one household will use the data. The difference is the commercial licence and organisational sharing, and retrofitting that decision means buying the hardware twice.
Activate the data subscription for your install date, not your order date. Otherwise the record opens with a gap and you pay for days you did not use.
Wind and solar radiation are the two channels to watch for lake health. They are what set up stratification and bloom conditions, and they are the reason this product belongs next to a buoy.
Cellular for pilings and far docks. Wi-Fi at the shoreline rarely reaches as far as people expect.
Pair it with anything else you own. Weather is the explanatory layer under every other dataset in the Toolbox.
Lake Pulse sells measurement and monitoring — not treatment or remediation. What you buy here positions you to solve the problem, and to prove whether it worked.
